History - 2004 Tour De Sol

After the impressive 2003 Tour de Sol performance, UWAFT returned again in 2004 with the re-entry of the 1997 Chevrolet Malibu. Just as the previous year, the 1.9 liter E-85 Saturn engine powered the front wheels, although the Malibu was also converted into a hybrid-electric with the addition of a 32kW Solectria motor powering the rear wheels.

The competition began in Burlington, NJ and wrapped up in New York City, occurring from May 22nd - 25th.
